Stella natalis ist ein Werk in 12 Sätzen von Karl Jenkins, in dem mit Worten aus den Psalmen bis hin zu neuen Texten von Carol Barratt verschiedene Aspekte der Weihnachtszeit - Winter, das schlafende Kind, Friedensbotschaften, Danksagungen - gefeiert werden. Stella natalis ("Stern der Geburt") schöpft seine Inspiration aus verschiedenen Quellen, wie beispielsweise dem Alten Testament, einem Zulutext und Verweisen auf Hindugötter. Die Besetzung ist für gemischten Chor, wahlweise mit zweitem Chor für Kinderstimmen, und Trompete, Keyboards, Schlagzeug und Streichorchester. Diese Gesangspartitur umfasst einen vollständig ausgesetzten Keyboardauszug für Probenzwecke.
Stella natalis is a work in twelve movements by Karl Jenkins celebrating different aspects of Christmastide - winter, the sleeping child, tidings of peace, thanksgiving - with text sources ranging from Psalms to Carol Barratt. Conveying the Christmas message of peace, goodwill, compassion and a new beginning, Stella natalis (‘star of birth’, ‘star of origin’) draws on an expanded palette of inspiration, including the Old Testament, Zulu text and reference to Hindu gods. Vocal score for solo soprano, mixed choir, female choir (SSA) ad lib., and piano reduction of the intsrumental parts.
