Organ of 2 (or 3) Keyboards
From Billaudot, we have a brooding, avant-garde ode to the first moments of the day for organ, written by French composer and student of Olivier Messiaen, Betsy Jolas. From the composer’s notes: “Always up before dawn, my mind and ears on the lookout, I take daily pleasure in capturing the sounds of the sleeping ‘megapole’: distant calls, lovesick cats, lone cars, rustling, crackling… rare sounds surrounded with silence and strangely set off against an indistinct rumor.” For advanced players. Duration: 15’
