For this volume of practical and creative hymn settings for trumpet and organ duet, we asked five of our composers (Marianne Kim, David Lasky, Robert Lau, Brenda Portman, and Nigel Williams) each to write two contrasting settings of familiar hymns: one loud and energetic, and one quiet and introverted. Thus across the volume, you will find pieces that are suitable for preludes, offertories, postludes, and for concert use. Each composer has explored their own style in the integration of the trumpet and organ together all at only a moderate difficulty level.
