J.S. Bach (1685-1750) schrieb mehrere Solowerke ohne Begleitung, wie z. B. die sechs Suiten für Cello und diverse Partitas und Sonaten für Flöte und Violine. Frits Damrow bearbeitete 22 solcher Solostücke für Trompete und machte damit die Solomusikdieses genialen Komponisten allen Trompetern zugänglich. Auch die CD spielte der Meistertrompeter selbst ein.
